Jana Vacková



Jana Vacková was born on 9th June 1960 in Pilsen, the Czech Republic. Since childhood her artistic conception was strongly influenced by her father – a professional artist and painter.


Jana attended grammar school and after school-leaving exams she studied Czech and Arts at Teacher Training College. Jana lives and works in Pilsen, she is a member of the Association of Artists of the Pilsen Region.


She deals with applied graphic art, free graphic art, especially with lithography, painting, illustration and stained glass fusing. She is mainly engaged in illustrations of books for children (fairy-tales and verses), books for adults and textbooks (set of textbooks of mathematics, natural science and civics for basic schools). Marginally she is also engaged in textile art, aradecor and textile-collage.


So far Jana has taken part in many solo and collective exhibitions, and her works of art can be found in private artistic collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.


For more than twenty years Jana has been working as a teacher at Primary Art School in Pilsen, Jagellonská Street. Her pupils and students of all ages exhibit their works of art in school exhibitions every year. A large number of them continues their studies at secondary art schools and colleges.


She also acts as a teacher of art education methodology at the Regional Centre.
